Exhibition Match is what the term describes: a friendly football match that becomes a space in which the various football-appreciating spheres of the arts ecosystem can connect – in the spirit of collaboration, partnership, and play. The live football match is by participation through an Open Call with the final teams selected by curators Phokeng Tshepo Setai and Alexander Richards. An exhibition of artworks and a members’ lounge, for arts workers and the extended community, will be open at A4 Arts Foundation and accompany the match. 

Exhibition Match is scheduled to take place February 20, 3–5PM, with play commencing at Badgers Football Academy in Gardens, Cape Town. Badgers Football Academy is a not-for-profit that empowers women through football. The confirmed artists include: Callan Grecia, Mikhael Subotzky, Penny Siopis, Zanele Muholi, Robin Rhode, Johannes Segogela, and more.

Match: Sunday February 20, 2022, 3–5PM, Badgers Football Academy
Members’ Lounge: February 18 & 19, 2022, 6–9PM, A4 Arts Foundation
