Throughout July and August 2016, Dorothee Kreutzfeldt spends time visiting surrounding sites, businesses and institutions, engaging the existing and planned architecture of 23 Buitenkant Street, and offering insights towards the organisational structure of A4.

Kreutzfeldt makes a mural that spans the walls of the first and second floors using paper, tape, charcoal and acrylic paint. Working in the existing stairwells of the building, the mural also includes visual references to the building before the stripping process.

Photographic documentation of the mural and additional documentation collected during her residency are collated into a publication called Landing Above, a portrait of the building and its surroundings recalled in photographs, sketches, and architectural incidents.

Kreutzfeldt is an artist, writer and visual arts lecturer whose multimedia work responds to the structures and flows of a given environment.
