During her residency at A4, Dorothee Kreutzfeldt engages in an open-ended and interdisciplinary enquiry into the area surrounding 23 Buitenkant Street. Textual, visual and material references are gathered as sketches and photographs are collaged and photocopied alongside this process to form a loose document. Architectural ornaments and facades of the built environment intersect with the protrusions and erosions created through use by people, plants or other organic agents – allowing ditches dug for cables to sit alongside court rosters and self-seeded palm trees.
