Produced and distributed by London-based record label Honest John, with recordings from the EMI Archive in Hayes. The compilation is intended to reveal the beginnings of Congolese rumba music. The genre grew within the burgeoning nightlife of Kinshasa (then Leopoldville) and Brazzaville.
