A recording of Kwame Nkrumah's speech at the founding conference of the Organisation of African Unity, held on May 1, 1963 in Addis Ababa. Intended as a collective form of resistance against colonialism and neo-colonialism, the OAU included 32 member states. The OAU was disbanded on 9 July 2002 by President Thabo Mbeki, its final chairman, and the AU took its place.
