Hitch-Hiker (1996, curated by Clive Kellner, Generator Art Space, Newtown, Johannesburg) offered various 'alternative' exhibition/media platforms to the participating artists. Stephen Hobbs' platform was advertising space in the Mail & Guardian newspaper. This exhibit includes the related documentation for The Rainbow Auction event: the auction ledger, facsimile certificates of those given to the buyers, and the original advert placed in the newspaper.
